Following a spate of bad luck during the Moto 3 Season Opening Rounds, 16 Year Old South African Brad Binder has been somewhat lucky in that he has managed to escape serious injury. However, even that bit of luck escaped him at The Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya. Following the most magnificent start where he shot to 8thfrom 22ndposition on the grid and sitting comfortably in the Top 10, his race was cut short prematurely on the 6thlap when another rider took the hapless Brad out. Brilliant start for Binder at Catalunya, but more bad luck puts paid to best efforts

The Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya culminated in yet another unlucky ending for Brad Binder.

The weekend started off positively for the young South African and Team RW Racing GP - considering Brad had never been on this track before. His first brush with the tar happened while he was on a fast lap in qualifying practice, Miguel Oliviera fell taking Brad with him, this prevented Brad from qualifying well and ensuring that his work was really cut out for him for the race. Unlucky QP for Binder in Catalunya

After positive FP3, Brad Binder was confident he could obtain a good position on the grid during today’s QP session, but it didn’t end as hoped.

It was a tough qualifying session for team RW Racing GP, and temperatures were higher than this morning’s.
This afternoon, the young South African, who was constantly in the top 10 in the third free practice session, wasn’t able to improve his laptimes. On his last lap, that would have very likely brought him up a few position, Brad was unfortunately taken out by Miguel Oliveira. Continue reading
